Roxbury, Massachusetts, as seen from Tremont Road

Description

A detailed depiction of a view of Roxbury before its incoporation with Boston. The scene includes many buildings, horses, people and an attempt to depict the Roxbury stagecoach. From the article: "The view which we present [...] of Roxbury, Mass., is taken from Tremont Road, and is a very fine and accurate representation of our suburban city as seen from this point. At the present moment it is strongly urged that Roxbury and Boston should be joined, and become one city. As it regards our own feelings, we are decidely in favor of such an arrangement, and know of a vast number of citizens who equally advocate the plan."
