Description

From "A grand panoramic view of Tremont street, Boston, east and west sides, from Court street to the Common," in Gleason's Pictorial and Drawing-room Companion, Boston, July 30, 1853. Four sections. a.West side, from Park street to the Albion[hotel], on the north corner of Beacon street, showing the Paddock elms on the walk in front of the Granary burying ground, long known as Paddock's mall, from Adino Paddock, who set out the trees about the year 1762. They were finally removed by the city in 1873. b.West side, from the Pavilion, adjoining the Albion to Reed's music store. c. East side, from Pierce's store on the corner of Court street, to Bromfleld street. d. East side, from Bromfleld street to Winter street.
