Posters for the following: the Pageant of Knights of Momus, the Pageant of Mystick Krewe of Comus, the Pageant of Rex and the Pageant of Krewe of Proteus at Carnival in New Orleans.
The "KOM" parade was a fixture of the Mardi Gras festivities, and the group's trademark was mokery and biting satirical humor. The Mystick Krewe was started in 1856 to celebrate Mardi Gras in a less crude fashion. The Pageant of Rex was for the "King of the Carnival." The Krewe of Proteus is the second oldest parade Krewe at Mardi Gras, dating as early as the 1880s.
