This interior view shows a room, possibly a laundry room, in the Wigglesworth House at 303 Adams Street in Milton, Massachusetts. Mrs. Eda Borgeson, who was from Norway, worked as a laundress in the house for over fifty years. She uses a clothes wringer.

Inscription

(Mrs.) Eda Borgeson, Norwegian. True friend and laundress in our household for over 50 years. When asked if she didn't get tired washing sometimes, she answered, "Oh, no. It's a change from the ironing." Such devotion & spirit. She died in my mother's employ. 1952. A.W. Chase (?). (handwritten)
