High Street, before the Fire of 1872, is seen with commercial buildings in the leather district. Alexander Moseley, sole and upper leather, is at number 48. Field, Converse & Allen, hides & leather, is at number 52-58. Men and boys stand underneath the Day, Wilcox & Company sign on High Street. Thomas E. Proctor, hides and leather, can be seen further down at 104 High Street.
