"Good old Doctor Barnard"/ First Pastor of the North Society/ Salem, Mass. a conspicuous/ figure in the North Bridge Affair/ This curious wax portrait was perhaps made by Mr. Rauschner/ who did such work in Salem about/ 1807. see Felt annals of Salem,/ It belonged to Miss Jane P. Phillips, whose/ father (S.C.P.) and Grandfather (S.P.)/ went to the North Church until Barton Square Church was started./ Labelled by me in 1911./ Stephen W.
