Description

Iron hanging hook with curved end and two smaller hooks on arched arm hold covered Betty Lamp with heart-shaped cover "key" on flattened, circular form with rounded spout extension at one end. Also has short chain with pick at end hanging from arched arm.

1) Cast mark in shaped reserve on flange/interior: crossed tools and words ""GLUCK ...AHF"". 2) Circular typed note found in lamp: ""When the German/migration from Black/Forest settled Seneca Co./Ohio, several blacksmiths/came and settled near Tiffin,/Ohio. They made these lamps,/also latches, fireplace tools etc./These lamps burned bear's grease./ From Mrs. Rhea Mansfield/Knittle, Ashland, Ohio./Migration 1843-1847.""
