A brass-colored curved metal buckle consisting of two pieces hinged together in the center; smaller piece is shaped like a "C" with hooks at each end. That section interlocks with a second C-shaped piece, with the ends of the hooks resting across the long bar section of the C-shape, which is also marked with a patent date [See inscriptions].
