One of many views of the early United States highlighted in the online exhibit "Patriotic America."
A reputed distant view of Boston Harbor with the center subject a large spread winged American Eagle perched on a rock above an American Shield. Although there is no proof that this is indeed the view it is purported to be, it is a beautiful view which varies from piece to piece as regards the buildings pictured and the number of ships in the harbor.
