While these woven bead watch chains were popular for only a few years in the 1830s, they experienced a bit of a revival in the 1870s. The faceted beads point to the later date. See the Phillips collection, 2006.44.224 for a similar revival chain made by Margaret Duncan Phillips for her husband. For ca. 1830s version see 1931.1804. Note the smaller, round glass beads on earlier piece and larger, faceted beads in only two colors on revival piece.
