Description

Rectangular gold brooch with central reserve filled with a braided love knot of human hair covered with a beveled oval of glass. The reserve is surrounded by three concentric frames. Innermost frame is narrow, gold, and heavily chased in repeating patterns of scrolls and foliage. The outermost edge is a scalloped gold frame with stylized leaves or shells at each corner. The space between the two gold frames is filled with black enamel. Closure is a hinged pin and C clasp on the back.
