Hand-crafted reproduction of a Federal style ladies' writing desk. Rectangular case enclosing one large drawer over two smaller drawers flanking arched knee hold. All drawers with dark stringing inlay. The top drawer inlaid to look like three separate drawers. Replaced brasses. Four square tapered legs terminating in square cup casters. Hinged fold-down writing surface covered with leather and supported by slide support. Case surmounted by tambour top with a sliding door on the lower half enclosing eight drawers with wood knobs and four pigeon-holes. Upper half is an open shelf flanked by side compartments with locked doors enclosing an interior serpentine panel; "pagoda" pediments.
