High-back rocking chair surmounted by wide crest rail w/ rounded shoulders. Panel decorated w/ bronze powder stenciling over red-and-black grained background. Central portion displays footed compote w/ compote w/ fruit surrounded by a variety of flowers, leaves and fruit. Large floral forms at both rail ends. Round stiles flank 7 tapered, round spindles, lightly grained and striped in yellow (in imitation of bamboo). Scrolled arms supported by single round arm supports. Concave seat w/ scrolled front, yellow striping (new) and stenciled floral forms over red-and-black grained background. Turned and striped legs w/ single turned stretchers on all sides. Simple rockers, (probably new). Pen inscription under seat: "Splat redecorated/ Seat repaired/ 1952".
