Description

Buff-colored clay body w/ white slip on interior and possibly cream-colored slip on exterior. Colorless glaze overall. Tumbler form is a very slightly tapered cylinder w/ a molded circular foot. Wide circular mouth. Polychrome enamel wash and transfer printed decoration featuring medieval revellers. Marked (w/ angel and banner), "Villeroy & Boch/ Mettlach/ Made in Germany." .2) Medieval gentleman pouring wine (marked "1096 MESCHUTZ")
