Chair in Federal styling that is possibly a reproducation. Low serpentine crest. Serpentine mahogany arms and supports, line inlay tapering rectangle echos shape of support. Support tenoned onto square tapering front legs with lightwood veneer panel on face level with seat rail. Lower leg has tapering rectangle of line inlay, which runs down to horizontal band of dark inlay marking foot. Plain parametal stretchers except on front which is dovetailed 4" back into side stretchers. Gold velveteen overpadded upholstery with evidence of previous scarlet and gold brocade covering.
