Gilded and turned spear-like finial. White enameled face with roman numerals and partially intact inscription "Simon Willard / Boston" above and another partially legible inscription "No. 4(1?)22". Throat and pendulum box edges stenciled with gilt leaf garland with stripe behind and eight point star on corner blocks. Throat with brass sidearms has reverse painted glass panel with cream border and center design of gilt urn with elongated floral branch stemming upwards. Blue surround and lozenge at bottom inscribed "PATENT" in gold leaf. Blue is bordered by gilt garlanded columns with scrollwork surrounding lozenge at bottom. Pendulum box has glass panel painted in same manner, except center has plain oval to view pendulum with gilt grapevine and floral motif encircling. Bracket has enlarged gilt leaf stencil with acorn drop.
