Josiah Quincy (1772-1864) is seen on the far left, his son Josiah Quincy (1802-1882) is in the middle (standing), Josiah Phillips Quincy (1829-1910) is on the right holding the infant great-grandson Josiah Quincy (1859-1919). The half-plate daguerreotype is by John Adams Whipple (1822-1891).
