Description

A woman sits on a chair holding sheet music in her left hand and leans her left arm on a table, on which other illustrated printed material rests, against a plain background. She wears a black dress with lace cuffs and earrings. Her hair is parted down the middle, and she smiles. The portrait is set in a gilded frame. Case made by William Shew, a pioneer Boston daguerreotypist and case maker who moved to San Francisco in 1850. Neg #047872-A
