Rectangular trunk. Slightly domed top. Wood carcass with tacked leather. Exterior and two tacked straps and newspaper- lined interior trifoil brass side plates with c-shaped metal handles. Hinge broken. Key and lock on front. Paper label reads "Lucy Coffin/ Newburyport."
