Framed bust length portrait of a man in ministerial garb. Nineteenth century copy of earlier work. Subject is probably Thomas Thacher, minister of Boston's Old South Church (b. 1620, d. 1678). Very dark, subject appears to be wearing a skull cap. Black robes with long tabbed white collar and white gathered sleeve visible. Book held in right hand. Gilt frame with lightly molded floral decoration.
