Description

Roughly square light-blue silk; tightly filled with sand or sawdust; small pieces of off-white lain woven cotton fabric cover top and bottom; the bottom panel is unadorned; top panel has a central square surrounded by four border strips with mitered corners and woven flowers; additional edges crocheted on cotton panels; off-white silk ribbons are laced through the crocheted borders and tied in multi-looped bows at two corners; in hope chest (acc. no. 1998.6174).
