Portrait of Abigail Coggeshall Casey (1737-1821). White-capped woman, head and shoulder view with plain brownish-black background. Sitter wears gray dress with sheer white fichu over shoulder and bust. Plain, molded rectangular frame painted brown (not original, probably 20th century).

Label

In 1781, Silas Casey came into sole charge of the divided estate. Silas and Abigail were the only members of the Casey family to make the farm their home, living there from 1787 until 1812.
