This platter is composed of a white clay body with a colorless "white" glaze that has a slight celadon tint. It is oval, with a slightly dished and canted rim. The overglaze polychrome enamel decoration in the rose palette features a gilt ground with a butterfly motif. There are six design reserves, three of which feature a bird and floral motif and three with Mandarin court scenes.
