This dish is composed of a white clay body with a colorless "white" glaze that shows a slightly celadon tint. The dish is rectangular with indented corners and a rectangular foot ring. The deep sides cant to a flange which receives the corresponding domed lid set with a berry-shaped finial. The lid and interior of the bowl show an overglaze enamel decoration in the rose palette. There are four design reserves, two with Mandarin court scenes and two with bird and rose motifs surrounded by rose and butterfly motifs on a gold ground. There is a stylized floral border and rose sprigs on the sides.
