Rectangular black lacquered paper mache writing box with mother-of-pearl and gilt floral inlay decoration on top. Hinged lid opens to reveal red cut-velvet writing surfce with compartments for ink, pens and paper. Stamped label on top of ink container reads, "Berys/ Patent."
