Rectangular steamer trunk w/ flat hinged lid. Exterior painted and decorated w/ geometric designs. Corners bound w/ black metal mounts. Interior lined w/ blue and white trunk paper. Label almost fully intact: "James S. Topham established 1855, 425 7th St, Washington."
