Bowfront chest of drawers w/ four graduated drawers and a dressing or combing slide. Single half-round molding on case frames each drawer. Four graceful claw and ball feet on short cabriole legs w/ shaped brackets. Overhanging top has thumbnail molding. Complete dustboard beneath second drawer; 1/4 on others. Slide has inscriptions on both sides also scribed compass patterns. Upper edge of drawer sides have molding profile (see worksheet for drawing). Bale brasses w/ oval plates and escutcheons. Back edge of top has an incised line (?) a beaded edge.

Perry her bureau by exchange w/ Mrs. Abby Fiske of a similar one in Concord."" Ink: ""Dec. 1850"" ""Jan. 1851"" ""January 3rd New Orleans/ 18-- Louisiana"" ""Mary L. Gilman"" in pencil. ""Notice/ ? Connell/ April 18, 1872"" Several inscriptions include time of day! Some Greek notations w/ dates in 50's. Also signatures w/ Latin-- ""T. Perry/ J (?)
