Waisted cylindrical shape. Marbleized painted sides banded w/ incised lines at center. Slightly recessed top painted black w/ 3 holes for quills. Cork stopper w/ chain mounted to top in central well hole. Paper label on bottom: "Manufactured/ by/ S. Silliman & Co./ Chester,/ Conn." Holds two unaccessioned display quills.
