Description

Silver meal, presented to Albert W. Ladd (1817-1864) at the 1855 Paris Exposition by Napoleon III. Awarded for the best square piano from the United States with over-strung action. Mr. Ladd invented over-strung action. Reverse: likeness of Napoleon III "Empereur". Obverse: "Exposition: Universelle: Agriculture: Industrie: Beaux Arts--Paris 1855-A.W. Ladd & Co." In a round red case with blue velvet lining. Gold lettering on cover "Exposition Universelle de 1855-Medaille-de Jre Clasce."
