Description

This album appears to be a family album from the 1860s and 1870s, largely picturing members of the Clark family. Interesting images are a tintype of two boys holding a puppy and a carte de visite of a man in uniform. The work of many Connecticut photographers is represented here. From New Haven, photographers include J.G. Steiger, Filley & Gilbert, Cowell's, and Moulthrop & Williams. Kellog, Prescott & White, Prescott and Gage & Bundy represent Hartford. There is also Irish & Co. from Bridgeport, Conn. E.L. Allen represents Boston, Massachusetts. Also included in the album are photographers from New York state and Erie, Pennsylvania. There are also cartes de visite by Matthew Brady, of New York and Washington, D.C.
