The face is painted white, with lunette decorated in gilt and grisaille with a scene of a sea battle over the dial. There are Arabic numerals in black and a second hand dial with conforming numerals. The spandrels are gilt and polychrome stylized with floral sprigs enclosed with "cable-like" gilt gesso beading. It also has a gilt gesso scrolling device below the aperature for hands.
