An interior view of the private library and office of Henry Hobson Richardson in the residence, originally the Samuel Gardner Perkins House, on 25 Cottage Street in Brookline, Massachusetts where he lived and worked from 1874 to his death in 1886. Bookshelves and bookcases line the walls. Oak beams cross the ceiling. Curtains are open to reveal another area of the space. Plaster castings and other art objects fill the room. A portrait of Richardson in monk's robes is on the desk and a skylight illuminates the rooms.
