Description

Pasteboard bandbox with lid. Bandbox [a] and lid [b] decorated with handmade block-printed wallpaper. Paper ground is light blue with darker blue stylized leaf or fern, medallion, and fleur de lis pattern. The inside of the box is lined with ivory colored paper. The inside of the lid is lined with newspaper. An advertisement for Mott's Patent Medicated Baths, Boston, circa 1831-1835, is visible. The exterior base of the box is lined with newspaper, no date. Visible stitching along sides and center; cloth binding box sides to bottom.
