Description

Partial roll of Tynecastle or Modeled Canvas wallcovering once part of the stock of Boston retailer A. H. Davenport. Sample appears to have been used to demonstrate how to apply color to Tynecastle. Lower third of the sample is molded canvas with no surface finish or color. The middle third is coated with a cream colored ground. The upper third is coated with a gold ground with design elements painted in green, brown and red. The pattern consists of peach and floral branches and foliate scrolls.
