Fragment of unused wallpaper. Anglo-Japanese style wallpaper with numerous floral and abstract motifs. Prominent repeating motifs include a block containing a vase of leaves and fruit on a yellow background, floral medallions, and small and large bouquets with a red cabbage rose. Block-printed in two yellows, red, dark maroon, olive and metallic gold on tan ground. Manufactured by Whiting and Sons, N.Y., (1880-1900), a member of the American Wall Paper Manufacturers Association (1880-1887).
