The image caption reads "John Hancock delivering the annual oration on the Boston Massacre." Two separate illustrations show the Boston Massacre event and the exterior of the Old South Meeting House. The item verso has a description of the Boston Massacre. Text on the verso states "Great care has been taken to reproduce the Pulpit and interior of the Church exactly as it appeared at the time of the Oration."
