Description

This mourning picture depicts a man and a woman under a weeping willow tree, standing on either side of a monument surmounted by a large urn. The man points toward an inscription on the plinth. The sky and their hands and faces are painted in watercolor. This picture was worked primarily in long and short satin stitches. It is framed, with a modern oval mat, under glass.
