Description

Rectangular formated portrait of a woman at waist length, facing right, with red drapes in the background. Light brown hair piled uptop her head with a blue dress with a round collar and lace banding (lace is in black circles with raised dots of white paint). She's also wearing a belt with a buckle, a chain attached to scissors and sewing in her lap. She holds a threaded needle in her right hand. Simple black frame. Oil on canvas. [see photo neg#47500-A]

1. On the lower left side on the back of the stretcher, on a typed white red bordered jelly label that reads: Allethenia Fisk/B.Wilton; NH, June 30/1792./D.Sept.4, 1838. Sister/of Achsah (Fisk) Farrar./Attrib. to Asahel/Powers of Spfld. VT. 2. Next to #1 on the back in a blue ball point pen on a jelly label with a red border, is written: Loaned by/Mrs. B.K. Little . 3. Measurements written in pencil on each side of the back of the picture on the frame, except the bottom. They are: 35.5"", 35.5"", 25.5"". 4. Across from the bottom in charcoal is written: #5904X
