Chamber Pot

Description

A Pearlware chamber pot of squat globular form with shoulder to body handle and a flat overhanging rim. It is decorated with an underglaze blue freehand decoration of a bold, stylized scrolling vine between blue ribbed bands around the sides. There is a leaf decoration to the rim and handle and it bears an applied relief medallion of the American eagle with a cherub on its back- touched with cobalt blue and surrounded with freehand swirly petals on a low outflared and flat, cracked, rim.
