Description

Small rectangular landscape. The scene features a central lake or pond, on which a sailboat glides; A cow grazes on a hill at the right, and houses dot the banks of the far and near shores; The scene is framed by tall trees on raised grassy mounds; the simple molded frame is worked in metal leaf, and the picture is glazed.

1-Written in black pastel or charcoal along the contour of a hill in the lower right of the image is: ""Charity Rowlond [per NFL- Charity Howland] 2- On the frame reverse in the upper left on a white sticker in a black felt tip pen is the number '31.' 3- On the upper center of the wood board backing on masking tape in black marker is the number '31.' 4- On the lower right on the board backing, in pencil: ""Frame sent date/200 [?]/ to 400.""
