This bound scrapbook entitled "Old Houses and Towns," created by Miss Annie H. Thwings, contains approximately 100 pages of photomechanicals, mainly of colonial houses and meetinghouses throughout New England. The collection includes images of vernacular houses, New England landscapes, aerial views of American cities and towns, a series of Boston street views set in 1833, as well as illustrations of landscapes and animals throughout the United States and Europe. The images are all well-captioned and many carry dates.
