This scrapbook, bound in 1923, belonged to Annie H. Thwing of Roxbury; the title "Miscellany" is printed on the spine. Thje first page lists, in her handwriting the contents of 23 items. These are a variety of pamphlets dating from 1860-1922 which are tipped into the binding in their entirety. There are little illustrated pamphlets of poems, riddles, charades, and include a calendar of the Civil War, speeches by Oliver Wendell Holmes, the history of the American flag, a recommended list of children's books, essays by Lilian Hoag Monk, a finely printed poem by Rudyard Kipling, and a description of the restoration of the (ancestral?) Thwing Church (East Yorkshire) from 1900.
