Medallion and Figural Vignette paper from Bass River, Massachusetts. Very deteriorated paper appears to have a pattern of classical and pastoral vignettes including: a medallion framing a vase of flowers; animal and fowl hanging dead after the hunt; a table with pitcher, corked bottle and bowl. Paper is handmade in sheets, block-printed in white, black, green and gray on blue ground. Multiple fragments of the paper hinged to paper folder by Waterhouse. A related border (2001.281.292) is also attached.
