Description

Scenery figure wallpaper fragment from the Endicott House, Canton, Massachusetts. Scenes include a gothic cathedral with figures in nineteenth century dress, a large building flying the United States flag, a seaport with sailing and steam ships and a round fort (possibly Castle William on Governor's Island, NY) and a cityscape. Scenes are framed by columns and arches. Roller-printed in brown, dark red, two greens and two grays on unground paper. Fragment is affixed to paperboard.
