This necklace is composed of collet-set moonstones hung along a gold chain, each stone suspended from an 'o' ring to form a "fringe" of stones. From the center of the chain is suspended a five-stone pendant, each stone connected to the next with 'o' rings. The necklace closes with a spring ring clasp.

Set, Jewelry
"Mementos: Jewelry of Life and Love from Historic New England": In 1914, at age sixty-seven, Margaret Duncan Phillips traveled around the world. When she arrived in Sri Lanka she acquired several pieces of jewelry, including a set of moonstones, which cost 41 rupees. The minimal settings of this set, which may not include those Sri Lanka moonstones, reflect the style of the early twentieth century.
