Unused wallpaper fragment from Middleton, Massachusetts. Gothic Revival style wallpaper with naturalistic branches interlaced to form a symmetrical pattern over three quarters of the width of the design. The remanding width is a vertical column-like stripe with carved scroll elements and shading that give the column a round appearance. Large scale pattern probably designed for use in a stairhall. Block-printed in tan, pale blue and maroon on a cream ground.
