Description

Two fragments of wallpaper from Nantucket, Massachusetts. Lozenge and rosette stripe pattern. Pink and red oval lozenge figures alternate with round rosettes to form vertical stripes. A floral pattern in ochre, now barely visible, is printed between the stripes. Block-printed in pink, red and ochre on orange ground. Handmade, wove paper with high blue fiber content. Partial sheets. Layer three of four from same location.
