Description

Fragment of reproduction scenery figure wallpaper. Medallion figures frame two pastoral scenes. The first scene is oval and depicts a male traveler resting against a tree trunk, a woman carrying a child on her back stands nearby. The second scene is smaller and rectangular. It depicts two seated people with a house in the background. The medallion elements, roller-printed in two shades of cream, are adorned with festoons of flowers and flanked on the left by a narrow stripe of the same color and style. The right side of paper has been torn away. The flowers and scenes are roller-printed in red, cream, two blues, blue-green, two greens, black, two pinks and two browns on beige ground. Manufactured by Birge in the U.S. Pattern number 3840.
