Unused fragment of nursery wallpaper from Middleton, Massachusetts. Comic scenes based on nursery rhymes are presented in an assymetrical pattern of squares and circles in the Anglo-Japanese style. Branches of mountain holly, or catberry, poke out between the scenes from behind. Scenes include Tom the Pipers Son, Three Blind Mice, Jack and Jill, Little Bo Peep, Simple Simon and Little Jack Horner. Roller-printed in pale yellow, pale blue, peach, olive green, red and black on brown ground.
