Description

Five fragments of wallpaper from Norwell, Massachusetts. Block-printed teardrop and tassle pattern. Groups of five green and black teardrop-shaped figures with white floral hanging tassels repeat across a light blue ground in off-set rows. Block-printed in green, black and white on blue ground. Laid paper, partial sheets. Fragments D and E are attached to Ribbon and Bow pattern border fragments (2001.281.468.2A-E).

"Original wall / paper found under / door frame in / Md. Clark's living Rm." (Small collection of wallpaper from the Clark house had been mounted on cardboard and held in place with milar held by scotch tape. Notes penciled in beside wallpaper fragments.)
"Mrs. Clifford Waterhouse thinks these are 1750" (handwritten)
